New Customers Connecting to a Newly Installed Water Service:

Will be notified if a backflow prevention device must be installed prior to service activation.

New Customers Connecting to a Water Service with a Backflow Prevention Device Already Installed:

Will be notified by letter that the backflow prevention device requires annual testing.

Existing Customers with a Backflow Prevention Device Installed:

Will be notified by the Huntsville Utility District, by courtesy, either with a letter or phone call that the backflow prevention assembly device needs to be tested on or before the previous year's test date in order to be compliant with Huntsville Utility District and the State of Tennessee.

However, if the customer is not notified, it is solely the customer's responsibility to have the assembly device tested annually by the requirements stated above.
